Bidong is a gazetted Malaysian National Heritage Site in the South China Sea off the coast of Terengganu, accessible by speedboat from Merang or Kuala Terengganu. Two dive sites cover a wide range of conditions: Bidong Jetty combines natural reef, artificial reef, and wreck elements at beginner-friendly depths, while Pulau Yu Kecil is an exposed offshore reef dropping to thirty metres with strong and sometimes unpredictable currents suited only to advanced divers. Visibility at the jetty site typically reaches twenty-five metres; the deeper site offers similarly clear water when conditions allow. The species list spans scalloped hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, silvertip sharks, green sea turtles, and ridley turtles. Diving is best from March to October.
