Mitsio and Tsarabanjina lie north of Nosy Be in the Mozambique Channel, and the two sites in our database are both shallow reef dives on the Tsarabanjina side of the archipelago. Third Brother sits at a consistent three metres and Tsarabanjina itself ranges from one to four metres, making both accessible to beginners and suitable for snorkelling. Visibility can reach thirty metres when conditions allow. Water temperatures are warm throughout the year, holding at thirty degrees during the wet season and dropping only to the mid-to-high twenties in the cooler months. Research notes that this remote area features underwater pinnacles and visibility often exceeding thirty metres at open-water sites, with whale sharks, manta rays, and giant moray among the species recorded here.
