The Orosei Gulf offers a varied diving landscape built around caves, caverns, reefs, canyons and wrecks. Sites range from shallow shore dives at Lungomare Beach to deeper boat dives on the KT12 Wreck and Nasello. The cave and cavern sites, including Galleria between Cala Luna and Cala Sisine and Le Grottace, suit beginners well, while intermediate divers can explore dramatic reef-to-canyon transitions at Biancas Garden. The Dusky Grouper, Mediterranean Moray and European Common Cuttlefish are signature sightings across the sites.

The cooler winter months are not prohibitive but demand more thermal protection. Water temperature around Orosei Gulf ranges from about 14°C in February to 26°C in August, based on satellite sea-temperature data for its dive sites.

The Turkish Wrasse, Painted Comber, White Seabream and Hermit Crab are observed across virtually all sites. The Dusky Grouper, Mediterranean Moray and European Common Cuttlefish are signature species recorded throughout the gulf. Scorpionfish and Conger Eel appear regularly on the reefs, and the Great Barracuda is an occasional visitor. Rarer sightings have included Spotted Eagle Ray and Seahorse.
A good number of sites here are rated for beginners, including the shore-accessible Lungomare Beach, the cave and cavern site Galleria, the multi-environment Le Grottace and the reef site Acqua dolce. Intermediate and advanced divers are catered for by the wreck sites and deeper reef-canyon combinations. The mix means groups of mixed experience can often dive in the same area.
Most sites require boat access, and several local operators serve the gulf including Orosei Diving Center, Sardinia Divers, Argonauta Diving Sardinia and others. Lungomare Beach is a notable exception, offering shore entry suitable for beginners and trainee cavern divers. Acqua dolce can be reached from either shore or boat, giving some flexibility.
The gulf combines cave and cavern diving, reef and canyon topography, and wreck diving in one area. Cave sites like Galleria and Le Grottace offer swim-throughs at accessible depths. The KT12 Wreck and Nasello provide dedicated wreck experiences at greater depth. Reef-to-canyon transitions, most clearly seen at Biancas Garden and Secca di Punta Nera di Osala, are a recurring feature of the deeper boat dives.
