Cagliari's two sites sit in the Mediterranean off southern Sardinia's Gulf of Angels, covering shallow seagrass and sandy reef from shore down to a granite wall and reef formation reached by boat. The depth range is very gentle, topping out at seventeen metres, and the sites suit both beginners and those wanting more structure. Water temperature rises from fifteen degrees in winter to around twenty-six degrees at peak summer, following a reliable seasonal curve. The species list includes gorgonians, red coral, common octopus, marbled electric ray, European spiny lobster, and gilthead seabream.
