Diving in Ternate

Ternate is a volcanic island in North Maluku, and its sole site in our database is Wreck Taman Nukila in the Patinti Strait. The site holds two shipwrecks, including the KM Pari, lying at accessible depths for beginners. Entry is available by boat or shore. Currents at the site can run strong and visibility is typically limited, so divers navigate by staying close to the structures. Water is warm and consistent across all months. The species list points firmly toward macro and cryptic life: multiple frogfish species, robust ghost pipefish, pygmy seahorse, common seahorse, ribbon eel, and bluespotted fantail ray are all recorded here.
