The East Fjords has one dive site in the database: the wreck of El Grillo, a British oil tanker resting at depths between twenty-eight and forty-five metres off Seyðisfjörður. The site is rated for advanced divers only, requiring boat access and a drysuit. Water here is among the coldest of any Icelandic dive region, staying at or near freezing for much of the year and reaching only the mid-single figures at its warmest in late summer and autumn. Visibility is typically between five and ten metres. Species associated with the site include Atlantic wolffish, cod, lumpfish, king crab, feather star, and brittle star.
