Paxos is defined by its caves. The majority of dive sites here are cave or cavern environments, accessed by boat and spread across skill levels from beginner to advanced. Sites such as Space Cave, Vassilis Cavern and Submarine Cave offer very different overhead experiences, while reef and seagrass habitats add variety at spots like Pisina. The Fangtooth Moray is the signature resident, and the European Parrotfish, Turkish Wrasse and Castagnole appear with high consistency across sites.

Water temperatures sit at their coolest in late winter and early spring, then climb steadily through summer to a warm peak in September and October. The warmest months also coincide with the highest concentration of recommended diving dates, making late summer and early autumn the most comfortable season. Sites are boat-access only and range from sheltered beginner caverns to deep, technical overhead environments.
