Maupiti is a Society Islands atoll in the South Pacific Ocean where the passes and outer reef are the focus of diving. The site list is built around manta ray encounters: a dedicated cleaning station and several pass sites, including the Fausse Passe, draw both divers and snorkellers. Outer drop-offs also host whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, dogtooth tuna, and Napoleon wrasse. Sites range from very shallow lagoon snorkelling to thirty-metre boat dives, covering beginner and intermediate skill levels. A single operator, Maupiti Diving, runs guided access. The dry season from May to October is generally considered the best period.
