Thetford Mines Quarries centres on the Flintkote Quarry, a flooded former asbestos mine in Quebec that has been developed into a managed dive site. The water carries a distinctive turquoise colour from suspended rock dust and offers good visibility. Depths extend from the shallows down to considerable depth, with the quarry containing submerged objects including a plane, a helicopter, a sailboat, and a kitchen structure placed specifically for divers. The region also includes lake sites such as Lac Orford and the shallow Knowlton Landing Jetty. All listed sites are shore-entry and rated suitable for beginners, and the quarry is open for both summer and ice diving. Species recorded include perch, pike, carp, catfish, and freshwater jellyfish.
