Pirangi lies just south of Natal along Brazil's north-eastern Atlantic coast and offers reef diving and snorkelling across a range of depths. The sites include shallow shore-accessible reefs such as Praia de Camurupim and Praia do Centro, suitable for beginners and snorkellers, as well as deeper boat-access sites like Barrerinha and the offshore reef at Pirangi itself. Water temperatures are warm throughout the year, cooling modestly between July and October. Species recorded across the region include whale shark, green sea turtle, nurse shark, and Atlantic goliath grouper, reflecting healthy reef conditions. Visibility varies by site, from five metres at shallower inshore spots to up to thirty metres at the clearer offshore reefs.
