Itacaré's sole site in our database is Taipus de Fora, a shallow shore-entry reef near Maraú. It is beginner-friendly, with depths topping out at eight metres and mild currents, though shore entry requires caution due to surf. Water temperatures are warm year-round, sitting in the upper twenties for much of the year and dipping only slightly in the cooler months. Species recorded include green sea turtle, nurse shark, Atlantic goliath grouper, lined seahorse, and spotted scorpionfish. With only one site currently listed, divers seeking a broader range of dives would need to explore the wider coastline.
