The Port Campbell region on Victoria's Great Ocean Road combines ocean diving at The Arches Marine Sanctuary with freshwater diving in two volcanic crater lakes near Camperdown. The Arches is a shore-accessible reef and wall site with limestone formations, reaching modest depths and suiting beginners, though surge and swell are frequent. Lake Purrumbete and Lake Bullen Merri offer deep wall and drop-off diving in brackish and freshwater, descending to fifty metres, and are better suited to intermediate and technical divers. Across all three sites, skill requirements range from beginner to advanced, and conditions vary considerably by season and weather.
