Luanda sits on Angola's Atlantic coast and serves as the main starting point for diving in the country. The three reef sites recorded here, Camogino, Le Galion, and Carcasses, are all suited to beginners, with reef structures sitting between thirteen and nineteen metres deep. Both shore and boat entries are available. Visibility at these sites typically runs between five and ten metres, and moderate currents are common, so divers should plan to head into the current at the start of each dive. Water temperatures are warmest from late January through April and dip to their coolest in mid-year. Species recorded at these reefs include Atlantic goliath grouper, common blacktip shark, nurse shark, green sea turtle, lined seahorse, and common octopus.
