Conditions include mild currents that can strengthen, with visibility ranging from 2 to 10 metres. The site is characterised by significant thermoclines and cold water temperatures, particularly at depth. Divers must manage gas and bottom time carefully due to the depth and potential for overhead environments. Boat traffic is a consistent hazard throughout the season. On-site facilities include a dive shop, parking, toilets, showers, and changing rooms to assist with preparation and post-dive rinsing.

Sunrise Beach is a freshwater dive site located within the Denver Metro Reservoirs. The site features an artificial reef structure and natural reef topography, with depths ranging from 2m to 24m and an average depth of 15m. Divers should be prepared for cold water temperatures and significant thermoclines occurring between 5m and 12m. Visibility is typically limited to 2m to 3m. Entry is via the shore, and the site is suitable for beginners. Divers must remain aware of boat traffic in the area. Facilities include on-site parking and a local dive shop. Typical dives at this location last approximately 40 minutes.
