Foça lies on the Aegean Sea north of Izmir and is one of the few places in Turkey where divers may encounter the endangered Mediterranean monk seal. Sites cover a broad range of formats: wrecks, walls, caves, drop-offs, drift dives, reef, and seagrass beds. The depth range runs from shallow shore dives to over forty metres, accommodating beginners through to advanced divers. Boat access is required for most sites, and the season runs from April to November. Recorded species include gorgonians, European spiny lobster, common octopus, nudibranch, and rainbow wrasse.
