Pohang sits on the East Sea coast of South Korea, where government-deployed artificial reefs define most of the diving. The two sites in our database range from a shallow natural rock pinnacle suitable for beginners to deep iron and square reef structures reaching forty-five metres, used for navigation training and adventure diving. Water temperatures climb through the warmer months and drop to the low teens in winter, making a wetsuit choice important year-round. Divers encounter wrasses, scorpionfish, conger eels, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, and occasionally loggerhead sea turtles and smooth hammerhead sharks around these structures.
