Mbao is a wreck-diving destination off the Dakar coast in the Atlantic Ocean, centred on a concentration of shipwrecks known as the Mbao Wreck Cemetery, located approximately three kilometres from the village of Mbao. Both sites, Etoile Rouge and Navarro, are deep wrecks reaching down to thirty-five metres and are rated for advanced divers with wreck certification. The structures have become artificial reefs, attracting species including nurse sharks, mako sharks, barracuda, dusky grouper, green sea turtles, and garden eels. All diving is by boat, and both sites carry entanglement hazards and variable currents.
