Novosibirsk and Kuzbass is a landlocked freshwater diving region in Siberia, where all eight sites in our database are lakes or quarries. Lake Teletskoye reaches extraordinary depths and offers dramatic drop-offs, while smaller sites such as Ingol Lake and Temir suit beginners looking for calm, current-free conditions. Water is cold throughout the year, and drysuits or thick wetsuits are necessary at most sites. Freshwater species recorded here include sturgeon, pike, perch, trout, burbot, and carp. Thirteen operators are based in Novosibirsk city, making this one of Russia's more accessible inland diving hubs.
