Diving in Czarnogłowy Quarry

Czarnogłowy Quarry is a pair of flooded freshwater sites in western Poland, both accessed from the shore, with diving available across a range of depths from shallow margins to around twenty-eight metres. The quarry originated as an open-pit carbonate rock mine and is noted for its emerald-coloured water and steep underwater walls. Jezioro Czarnogłowy features a wall, a drop-off, a wreck, and an artificial reef, while the adjacent Jezioro Czarnoglowy Srednie adds kelp growth to the mix. A pronounced thermocline means temperatures just below the surface can fall to near freezing even when summer surface water is warmer, so thermal protection is important regardless of season. The area suits beginners and draws operators based in Szczecin and Kołobrzeg.
