Hańcza Lake near Suwałki is the deepest lake in Poland, reaching one hundred and eight metres, and that depth defines every aspect of diving here. A dramatic drop-off begins at around twelve metres, making the shallower sections accessible to beginners on training platforms and the deeper wall strictly the domain of advanced and technical divers. Visibility varies between a few metres and over a dozen. Recorded species include burbot, pike, wels catfish, European eel, trout, and freshwater jellyfish. The lake also holds medieval dugout boats. Multiple operators based in Suwałki and Augustów serve the site, and it is accessible year-round.
