Klaipėda is Lithuania's gateway for Baltic Sea wreck diving, with both sites in the database located offshore and accessible only by boat. One wreck sits at around twenty-five to twenty-seven metres; the other lies at thirty-eight metres and requires advanced certification with wreck training. The water is cold for most of the year, warming only in late summer, and visibility can vary considerably, from a few metres to over twenty. Low salinity in the Baltic Sea slows corrosion, which contributes to the preservation of the wrecks. Diving here is best coordinated through a local operator.
