Umm al Maradim is a southern island in Kuwait set in the Arabian Gulf, sitting over twenty-four kilometres from shore and accessible only by boat. Two reef sites here cover a depth range from three to nineteen metres, and conditions suit both beginners and intermediate divers. The island is a military zone, which has limited human pressure on the reef. Species recorded at these sites include torpedo rays, Indian lionfish, snake eels, conger eels, nudibranch species, and yellowtail clownfish. Visibility is variable, ranging from poor to good depending on conditions, and moderate currents and surge are factors to plan around.
