The Dahlak Archipelago lies in the southern Red Sea and is reached by boat from Massawa. Eritrea Diving Expeditions operates across five sites that span seagrass shallows, reef walls, a wreck, and the offshore exposed reef at Two Fathom Bank, with depths from very shallow to around thirty-five metres. The archipelago is a designated marine national park with strictly regulated access; permits must be arranged through licensed operators before arrival. Marine life recorded here includes whale sharks, silvertip sharks, bluespotted fantail rays, common seahorses, and day octopus. The area is characterised by low visitor numbers and reefs noted for their ecological resilience.
