Salango is a small fishing village on Ecuador's mainland Pacific coast, and its three dive sites are all reached by boat from the village or nearby Puerto López. The sites around Isla Salango offer a varied topography of reef, wall, and drop-off, from a very shallow coral garden dominated by elkhorn coral through to a wall descending to thirty metres. Oceanic manta rays, South American sea lions, and a range of reef fish including king angelfish, barberfish, and finescale triggerfish are recorded here. Conditions suit both beginners and intermediate divers depending on the site.
