Metlakatla Pass at Pike Island offers a marine environment featuring a mix of rocky reefs, kelp forests, and seagrass beds. Snorkellers can explore the protected channel, which is characterised by calm conditions and the presence of ancient shell middens along the shoreline. Access to this site is by boat, located approximately 4000 metres from the shore. The water temperature ranges from 7C to 14C throughout the year. The site is suitable for beginners, with mild currents present. Snorkellers may encounter a variety of temperate marine life typical of the region, including various invertebrates, cephalopods, and marine mammals inhabiting the kelp and seagrass habitats.

Grassy Bay, located along the Butze Rapids trail, provides a sheltered marine environment suitable for snorkelling. While the nearby rapids are hazardous, the bay itself offers calm water conditions. Access to the water is via the shore. The site is appropriate for beginners, though water temperatures remain cool throughout the year, ranging from 7C to 14C. Snorkellers should be aware that the area is subject to variable conditions. The site is primarily recognised for its intertidal environment.
