Palm Beach, at the northern end of Sydney's coastline, offers reef, wreck, and cave diving across two sites that suit intermediate and advanced divers. The wreck of the Valiant sits offshore in water ranging from twenty-two to twenty-seven metres and is reached by boat only. The reef site can be accessed from shore or boat and includes overhead environments that require appropriate training. Tidal currents are a factor at both sites, and visibility varies considerably. Grey nurse sharks, giant cuttlefish, green moray, spotted wobbegong, green sea turtles, and eastern red scorpionfish are among the species recorded.
