Scotts Head sits on the mid-north coast of New South Wales and offers shore-entry diving across ocean and estuarine environments. The three sites in our database are Waikki Beach, Nambucca River at the V-Wall, and Fraser's Reef, all rated beginner and reaching a maximum depth of twelve metres. The Nambucca River mouth experiences strong tidal currents, so timing for slack high tide is essential there. Water is noticeably warmer than further south, staying above twenty degrees even in mid-winter. Recorded species include Reaper Cuttlefish, Striate Anglerfish, Common Sydney Octopus, and several nudibranch species.
