The Bridges Islands sit in the Beagle Channel near Ushuaia, at the southern tip of Argentina, and the diving here is shaped entirely by extreme cold-water conditions. Water temperatures can drop below five degrees Celsius, so a drysuit and specialised cold-water preparation are essential. Sites include reef, wall, kelp forest, and drift diving, with depths from the shallows down to around twenty-seven metres. The underwater life reflects the channel's rich cold-water productivity: blue sharks, broadnose sevengill sharks, king crabs, skates, brittle stars, feather stars, and dense kelp characterise what divers encounter. Intermediate experience is the minimum recommended level, and boat access is required for at least one site.
