The Beagle Channel is a sub-Antarctic waterway accessed from Ushuaia, and its diving is defined by giant kelp forests, cold water, and rich benthic life. Sites range from shallow shore entries to boat-only locations such as Isla de los Lobos, sixty kilometres offshore. Water temperatures sit between roughly two and ten degrees Celsius, making a drysuit standard. Visibility can reach twenty metres at sites such as Sea Lions Island. Marine life includes South American sea lions, king crabs, sea urchins, sea stars, nudibranchs, squat lobsters, and East Pacific red octopus.
