Las Grutas Reefs sit in the San Matías Gulf on the Patagonian Atlantic coast and combine natural rocky reefs, caves, and wrecks including the Don Félix. Sites range from tidal pools and restinga shelves accessible from the shore to boat-only wreck dives reaching twenty-five metres. Visibility is best in summer, reaching up to twenty metres at sites such as La Rinconada, while winter months see temperatures drop to around eleven degrees Celsius. Species recorded here include broadnose sevengill sharks, blue sharks, South American sea lions, torpedo rays, conger eels, and king crabs.
