Tanna sits in the South Pacific Ocean and is shaped above and below the waterline by active volcanism. Minimal freshwater runoff keeps visibility consistently good year-round, including through the rainy season from December to March, because the steep underwater topography means runoff has little effect on dive sites. The one site currently in Fin's database, Lemnap Blue Cave, is a shallow marine cave reached by boat and rated suitable for beginners and snorkellers. Visiting mid-morning lets sunlight flood the entrance and cast a vivid blue glow through the water. Recorded species at the cave include green sea turtles, whitetip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, and pygmy seahorses.
