Lake McConaughy is the largest lake in Nebraska and offers a wider range of freshwater diving than most reservoirs in the region. Sites include the submerged foundations of the original town of Lemoyne, submerged trees at the western inlet, the concrete Morning Glory spillway at Kingsley Dam, and rocky point reefs at Martin Bay. Depths reach beyond forty metres at the western end. Visibility and temperatures are most favourable through the summer and into autumn. Shore access is available at several sites, though the deepest western sites require boat access.
