Jamestown Reservoir is a freshwater site in North Dakota offering a compact depth range across artificial reefs, a wreck, and a submerged nineteenth-century town. The flooded settlement at Winona is the most historically distinctive site, where divers can explore building foundations and artefacts. The Islet features rocky riprap around the dam face, while Jim River Bay marks the point where the James River enters the main reservoir. Visibility is moderate to good at the reef sites and poor to variable elsewhere. Cold water persists year-round, and drysuits or high-rated thermal protection are necessary for comfortable diving.
