The reservoir stratifies during the summer months, with temperature changes of up to 3.2 degrees Celsius recorded in the water column during June. Depths at this site range from the surface to 11 metres, with an average depth of 5 metres. Access is via a shore entry, and the site is best suited for intermediate divers.

Pelican Point Landing Beach is a freshwater artificial reef site located on the west shore of the Jamestown Reservoir. The site features a shoreline composed of sand and prairie grass with a shallow gradient, making it accessible for shore entries. Depths range from 2 to 12 metres, with an average depth of 5 metres. Conditions are variable, with potential for low visibility, cold water temperatures, and boat traffic. Entanglement hazards are present. The site is suitable for beginners, though the snorkel rating is low. Facilities available at the location include parking, toilets, showers, changing rooms, equipment rental, a cafe, and boat charter services.
