Mersin's dive sites line the Mediterranean coast and are all shore-entry locations suited to beginners. Several sites are defined by freshwater springs mixing with seawater: Narlıkuyu Bay has a visible halocline from bubbling springs, Yapraklı Koy features cold freshwater meeting the sea, and Akyar Coves also sees notably cool water from spring influence. Kızkalesi Hidden Coves, tucked north of the Maiden's Castle, offers rocky reef down to twenty metres. Recorded species include common seahorse, dusky grouper, butterfly ray, torpedo ray, bobtail squid, and conger eel.
