Mesharifa and Gota Mesharifa are two shallow reef sites in the northern Red Sea, sitting within the Port Sudan area and accessed by boat. Both sites in our database are reef dives and suit intermediate divers, with recorded depths in the shallow range. Visibility is variable and can be limited, and currents shift unpredictably, so checking conditions before entry is advised. The species list here favours reef residents: gorgonians, bluespotted fantail rays, day octopus, emperor angelfish, green sea turtles, slipper lobster, and snake eels are all recorded.
