Madang lies on the north coast of Papua New Guinea facing the Bismarck Sea and offers two contrasting boat-access dives for intermediate divers. Planet Rock is an offshore pinnacle rising from six hundred metres to within a few metres of the surface, serving as a transit point for pelagic life including whitetip reef sharks and napoleon wrasse, with moderate currents and visibility up to fifty metres. The B25 Bomber Wreck is a WWII Mitchell bomber resting in shallower water, providing calmer conditions and a different reason to dive. Water temperatures are warm and consistent, dipping slightly between August and October. Conditions are generally best from May through October.
