Malindi lies on the northern stretch of Kenya's Indian Ocean coast and its dive sites sit within Malindi Marine National Park, Kenya's first marine protected area. The two sites in our database are shallow reef dives suited to beginners, both entered from shore and reaching a maximum of eighteen metres. Papi Shark Reef is particularly shallow, while Snorkel Spot extends a little deeper with variable visibility. Despite the modest depth range, the species list is diverse, including Napoleon wrasse, green sea turtle, harlequin shrimp, whale shark, hairy frogfish, and peacock mantis shrimp. Seven operators cover the area, most based in Malindi town.
