Le Formiche is a series of outcropping rocks located southeast of the harbour at Isole Ponziane. The site features a complex topography of underwater gullies, walls, and caves that descend from 14 metres to a maximum depth of 54 metres. Access to this site is by boat only. Divers should be prepared for moderate currents, which can occasionally become strong. Visibility at the site ranges between 10 and 30 metres. Due to the depth and current conditions, this site is best suited for intermediate divers. The area is also rated for snorkelling.
