Apataki is a remote Tuamotu atoll in the South Pacific Ocean where diving is shallow and accessed from shore. The single site in our database, Apataki Carenage, is a reef and artificial reef combination reaching only a few metres depth, suited to beginners and snorkellers. Water stays warm throughout the year, cooling slightly in the austral winter. The passes of Apataki are noted for high concentrations of gray reef sharks and schooling reef fish, and the atoll is reached primarily by liveaboard.
