Taha'a shares a large lagoon with Raiatea in the Society Islands and offers a wide spread of diving environments, from shallow lagoon reefs to a pass that drops beyond fifty metres. The nine sites in our database include drift dives through Ceran Pass, a coral garden, a cave, pinnacles, and the very shallow L'Aquarium. Site depth ranges from the surface to nearly sixty metres, covering all skill levels. Species recorded include eagle rays, Napoleon wrasse, regal angelfish, and giant moray. Fifteen operators serve the area. Water is warm year-round, cooling slightly in the austral winter. Whale encounters are also reported during the migration season.

Water temperatures remain warm through most of the year, dipping a few degrees in the austral winter months of July through October. The cooler, drier period from May to October generally brings more settled surface conditions and is considered the better half of the year for diving.
