Luperon lies on the Atlantic north coast of the Dominican Republic and offers a relatively lightly dived alternative to busier dive hubs nearby. The bay is known as a hurricane hole, and the surrounding sites remain relatively virgin. Divers find canyons, walls, reefs, and a wreck within a depth range suited to beginners and intermediates. The Traktor Wreck has become an artificial reef, and Coral Garden transitions from shallow reef into a wall dropping to thirty metres. Shore and boat entries are both available at some sites. Water is warm year-round, and diving runs throughout the calendar.
