Kananaskis offers alpine freshwater diving at two contrasting sites in a mountain setting. Forget-Me-Not Pond is a purpose-built artificial reef in shallow water, with visibility that can reach thirty metres on good days and calm conditions that make it well suited to beginners and training dives. Upper Kananaskis Lake is deeper and glacier-fed, with temperatures between ten and fifteen degrees Celsius in summer and colder conditions at other times. Both sites are shore dives with straightforward access, and several operators based in Calgary and Cochrane run trips to the area.
