Banff National Park offers high-altitude, cold-water lake diving at a small number of well-defined sites. Lake Minnewanka is the most historically significant, holding the submerged foundations and structures of Minnewanka Landing, a townsite flooded in the nineteen-forties, accessible by both shore and boat out to depths that suit intermediate divers. Two Jack Lake functions primarily as a training ground for beginners, with shallow depths and cold water between two and eight degrees Celsius year-round. Water temperatures across all sites remain cold regardless of season, and a drysuit is recommended throughout.
