Jasper National Park's two database sites offer cold-water alpine lake diving accessible from the shore. Patricia Lake holds a deliberately sunk wooden barge that serves as an artificial reef, descending from moderate depths to over forty metres, with significant thermoclines encountered on the way down. Edith Lake is the shallower, more approachable option, with surface temperatures reaching sixteen to eighteen degrees Celsius in summer, making it warmer than most lakes in the park. Both sites are shore dives with straightforward access and suit beginners through to intermediate divers.
