The Near Islands region sits in the Gulf of Thailand off Koh Chang, with boat access from Bang Bao. It covers two sites: Hin Luk Bat, a pinnacle and reef reaching twenty-five metres, and the HTMS Thonburi, a historic Thai warship wreck resting in very shallow water. Both are intermediate-level dives. The Thonburi is notable for rapidly shifting strong currents and limited visibility, while Hin Luk Bat offers calmer conditions and supports night diving. Recorded species include hairy frogfish, common seahorse, bluespotted fantail ray, leaf scorpionfish, silvertip shark, and giant moray.
