The site reaches depths of 1 to 3 metres, averaging 2 metres. Visibility ranges from 10 to 25 metres. Marine life includes common wrasses, bird wrasse, and elongate clams. Less frequently, snorkellers may encounter Napoleon wrasse, longhorn cowfish, titan triggerfish, giant moray, ornate butterflyfish, guineafowl puffer, pennant bannerfish, rock cod, moorish idol, orangestripe triggerfish, and lagoon triggerfish. Due to strong currents and boat traffic, this site is suited for intermediate snorkellers. Facilities include parking, toilets, showers, and a cafe.

The Sofitel Moorea offers accessible shore snorkelling within the Temae Lagoon. This shallow reef site reaches depths of 1 to 2 metres, making it suitable for beginners. Snorkellers can observe a variety of marine life, including very common wrasses and common species such as elongate clams, orangestripe triggerfish, lagoon triggerfish, and bird wrasse. Sofitel Moorea Coral Garden is a shallow reef site located directly in front of the Sofitel Kia Ora resort on the east coast of Moorea. The site features a high density of staghorn coral and active reef restoration projects situated around the overwater bungalows. With an average depth of two metres and mild currents, this location is suitable for beginners and accessible directly from the shore. Facilities available at the resort include parking, toilets, showers, changing rooms, a rinse station, equipment rental, a cafe, and first aid services. The site is well-suited for snorkelling.

Aquarium de Cook, located off the Moorea East Coast, features a combination of natural reef and artificial reef structures. This site is suitable for beginners and snorkellers, offering a relaxed environment with mild currents. Depths typically range from 5 to 10 metres, though the site can reach 22 metres. Divers and snorkellers experience water temperatures between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius and visibility ranging from 15 to 25 metres. Access is strictly by boat, located 50 metres from the shore. Divers should remain vigilant for boat traffic when surfacing and monitor air consumption carefully given the site's depth profile.

L’ile bleue in Opunohu Bay features a varied underwater terrain combining reef structures and a canyon system. Divers typically explore between 8 and 16 metres, though the site extends to 45 metres. Visibility ranges from 9 to 30 metres, with water temperatures between 27 and 29C. Moderate currents often funnel through the canyon, requiring intermediate buoyancy skills. Access is by boat only, located 500 metres from shore. Night diving is permitted, offering opportunities to observe invertebrate activity on the reef. Species recorded around this area include spotted eagle rays, giant morays, regal angelfish, wrasses, and various butterflyfish. Facilities including showers and toilets are available on the surface.

Gump Reef is a scientifically significant reef located at the northwest mouth of Cook's Bay near the UC Berkeley Gump Research Station in Opunohu Bay. The site is characterised by high coral cover, including notable populations of fire coral (Millepora). Divers and snorkellers may encounter species such as blacktip reef sharks, spotfin lionfish, flagtail triggerfish, spotted boxfish, and various wrasses. Smaller invertebrates including nudibranchs, shrimp, cushion stars, hermit crabs, and sea cucumbers are also present. Access to this site requires a boat. With water temperatures ranging between 27C and 29C throughout the year, it offers a wilder alternative to typical resort lagoons for intermediate divers and snorkellers.

Les Jumeaux is a drift dive located in Opunohu Bay, named for its distinctive twin reef formations. The site sits at depths between 13 and 21 metres and requires boat access. Divers experience variable currents that drive the drift along the reef structure. Visibility at the site typically ranges from 15 to 30 metres, with water temperatures between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius.
