Westpunt occupies the far northwestern tip of Curacao and delivers a concentrated range of reef, wall, drop-off, cave and wreck diving within a compact stretch of coastline. Shore entries dominate, making sites like Playa Kalki, Playa Lagun and Kleine Knip independently accessible, while boat-only sites such as Santa Cruz, Sponge Forest and Elvin's Plane Wreck add variety. Topography shifts quickly from shallow coral gardens into steep walls. The French Angelfish, Smooth Trunkfish and Blue Tang are seen across virtually every site, while the Chain Moray, Green Moray and Spotted Scorpionfish are signatures of the area. Skill levels span beginner to intermediate.

Water stays warm throughout the year, with temperatures rising through summer and peaking in the autumn months, making the period from August through October particularly inviting. Westpunt has an unusually rich mix of reef fish and invertebrates observed across its sites. The French Angelfish, Smooth Trunkfish and Blue Tang are found almost everywhere, while the Spotted Scorpionfish rewards careful eyes on the reef. Three species of moray, the Chain Moray, Green Moray and Spotted Moray, are signature encounters, and the Stoplight Parrotfish, Queen Parrotfish and Porcupinefish are all very commonly recorded.
A good proportion of Westpunt's sites are rated for beginners, including Kleine Knip, Playa Kalki, Grote Knip and the Blue Room cavern. These offer shallow starting depths and manageable topography. Intermediate-rated sites such as Playa Piscado and Scooter suit divers who are comfortable with deeper walls and occasional drift conditions. The mix makes the area workable for a group with varied experience levels.
Shore entry is the dominant access method in Westpunt, with sites including Playa Hundu, Playa Forti, Playa Lagun and Kenepa all reachable directly from the coast. Several notable sites, including Santa Cruz, West Point, Sponge Forest and Elvin's Plane Wreck, require a boat. Local operators Go West Diving, Sublime Diving Curacao and Bahia Diving all cover the area and can arrange boat dives to the offshore sites.
Elvin's Plane Wreck is the only dedicated wreck site in Westpunt, featuring a sunken Fokker Fairchild aircraft resting on a sandy patch. It is rated intermediate and reached by boat only. Unlike the reef and wall dives that characterise most of the area, the wreck sits at depth and requires comfortable buoyancy control. It sits alongside a reef section, so a single dive can take in both the structure and the surrounding coral.
