Divers may also encounter uncommon species such as laced moray, bluespotted fantail ray, snowflake moray, pufferfish, raccoon butterflyfish, porcupinefish, Indo-Pacific sergeant major, emperor, grunt, bream, and crab. The rare sunrise tentacle aeolid has also been observed here. This site is suited for advanced divers due to the depth and current conditions.

Pinnacles is a deep reef site located 8000 metres offshore within the Sodwana Reefs. The topography features large rock formations, boulders, and gullies interspersed with sand patches. The main pinnacle rises to within six metres of the surface, though the primary diving depth ranges from 30 to 42 metres with an average of 36 metres. Due to the depth and strong currents, this site is suitable for advanced divers only. Access is by boat charter. Conditions vary, with visibility ranging from 5 to 25 metres and water temperatures between 22 and 27 degrees Celsius. Night diving is permitted at this location.
