Andros sits beside the Tongue of the Ocean, a deep-water trench that shapes the character of diving here more than anything else. The Andros Barrier Reef, the third-largest barrier reef in the world, runs along the island's eastern edge and draws divers for its walls, coral, and marine life including nurse sharks, goliath grouper, green sea turtles, and lined seahorses. The region is also home to the world's largest collection of inland blue holes, and most of the sites in Fin's database reflect this: blue holes, caverns, caves, and walls, from the very shallow Guardian Blue Hole to the full depth of the Great Blue Hole.
